About Make Music Day

Originally started in France in 1982,  Make Music Day is a celebration of music worldwide, now held on the same day in more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries. Unlike a typical music festival, Make Music is open to anyone wanting to participate. Every kind of musician — young and old, amateur and professional, of every musical persuasion — pours onto streets, parks, plazas, and porches to share their music with friends, neighbors, and strangers. All of it is free and open to the public.

Mission

Connect the Fort Collins community, regardless of age, race, musical experience, or ability, to make and enjoy music together every June 21st, while encouraging participation in music-making and community-building all year round.

Vision

A city where all community members are encouraged to make music and feel connected/supported in their engagement with each other through the arts.

Make Music Fort Collins is a community activity sponsored by Foundation Music School – a nonprofit school offering music instruction and therapy to the northern Colorado community.
