Position Overview

We are seeking a private piano instructor beginning June 1, 2026, to teach 5-10 private students per week, with opportunities for growth. Potential to be trained and teach group keyboard or mixed instrument classes exists. This position is well-suited for an instructor who values both structure and creativity in music education.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality private instruction in piano, adapting to students’ individual goals and learning styles.

• Lead 1-2 group classes per week,, following an FMS-provided curriculum while bringing your own teaching style.

• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, supporting students in their growth as musicians.

• Maintain clear communication with families and collaborate with fellow educators.

Schedule & Compensation

• Teaching hours: 3:00 - 7:00 PM (Monday-Friday), with some earlier availability in summer if desired.

• Lesson structure: 45-minute private lessons in summer, transitioning to 30-minute lessons in Fall/Sprin

• Group classes: 45-60 minutes per class, with 5-8 students per session (assistant provided for larger groups).

• Compensation: $27.00-$30.00 per hour, based on education and experience.
