About Foundation Music School
Foundation Music School (FMS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to dynamic, student-centered music educa-
tion. Our approach balances technical skill-building with creative exploration, ensuring that students develop conf-
dence, musicianship, and a lasting love of music.
At FMS, educators are encouraged to adapt their teaching to the unique needs of their students, creating engaging and
meaningful learning experiences in both private and group settings.
Position Overview
We are seeking a private violin instructor beginning June 1, 2026, to teach 15-20 private students per week, with
opportunities for growth. This position is well-suited for an instructor who values both structure and creativity in
music education.
Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality private instruction in violin, adapting to students’ individual goals and learning styles.
• Ability to teach cello, viola and/or bass a plus
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, supporting students in their growth as musicians.
• Maintain clear communication with families and collaborate with fellow educators.
Schedule & Compensation
• Teaching hours: 3:00 - 7:00 PM (Monday-Friday), with some earlier availability in summer if desired.
• Lesson structure: 45-minute private lessons in summer, transitioning to 30-minute lessons in Fall/Spring.
• Compensation: $27.00-$30.00 per hour, based on education and experience.
