Music Makers
MUSIC MAKERS- Exploring Nature (4 - 6 years old) is a sequential music education curriculum that prepares students 4 - 6 years old for success and fun at the keyboard. Each 60-minute Music Makers class ends with a 10-minute family sharing time. In Music Makers, students explore musical concepts through singing/vocal development, playing instruments, moving, listening and creating. Musical skills evolve through performing, hearing, writing and reading musical patterns. Students also have the opportunity to participate in instrumental ensemble work and to learn about orchestral families of instruments. (Class duration: 60 minutes)
MUSIC MAKERS- Exploring the World (5-6 years old): is designed for graduates of MUSIC MAKERS-Exploring Nature, or for students entering kindergarten or 1st grade who are not quite ready for an instrument class. The structure of this class is similar to MUSIC MAKERS-Exploring Nature, however students will explore world cultures (British Isles, Amerindians, Germany and African Americans) through music and there is a much greater emphasis placed on learning both rhythmic and tonal musical notation patterns, as well as finding these patterns in actual song pages. Also, simple song patterns will begin to be learned on the glockenspiels to further prepare students for success in an instrument class .
Full and partial scholarships are available for all programs based on financial need. Please inquire.
